The Constitutional Issue of LIFE

“The care of human life and happiness and not their destruction is the first and only legitimate object of good government.” ~Thomas Jefferson

This means that government does not GRANT our right to life; but simply recognizes it.

“No person shall be …..deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law…”
-Amendment V of the Constitution

“….nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law…..” -Amendment 14 of the Constitution

In the journey to restore our Constitutional Republic, as we focus specifically on the letter of the law; we also desire to point out the Spirit of our founding Fathers and their firm reliance on Divine Providence and His Word. If we understand the covenants that they made and their scriptural basis, we will be able to set goals and take the shortest path to them. Our steps may seem small at first and we may have to make concessions, but we can create a principled path to the return to Constitutional Law.

The most important Constitutional issue is a Pro-Personhood plank.

“What is Personhood? It is the recognition by our culture and our government that each individual human life has an “unalienable” right to life from its earliest biological beginning. This right to life extends to natural death, regardless of one’s disability, gender, race, dependency or manner of conception. The “unalienable” right to life comes from God by virtue of the fact, that we have been created in His image and are thus imbued with a unique worth and dignity not found in the rest of creation.” (From Personhood: A Pragmatic Guide to Prolife Victory in the 21st Century and the Return to First Principles in Politics by Dan Becker, President of Georgia Right to Life.)

“Manner of conception” would include all embryo babies no matter how they are conceived; all babies created through cloning and experimentation and all babies conceived in rape or incest. All God-fearing leaders are now being challenged to honor God in this issue.

“The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.”

Mission: Personhood is a movement working to respect the God-given right to life by recognizing all human beings as persons who are “created in the image of God” from the beginning of their biological development, without exceptions.

I ask you now, to covenant with us, to honor God above man and to honor His law above man’s. In this time where we need His mercy and grace desperately, will you propagate the message of  Personhood?

Amendment language for PersonhoodFL:
The words “person” and “natural person” apply to all human beings, irrespective of age, race, health, function, condition of physical and/or mental dependency and/or disability, or method of reproduction, from the beginning of the biological development of that human being.

“And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.”

This Fourth of July, while we are celebrating our freedom and liberty, let’s bring along our petitions and share this most important Constitutional issue of life.
