I just want to share my thoughts about how blessed I am to be a part of the Personhood movement. Not even a month ago, Personhood Florida came to Tampa to educate us on the Constitutional Amendment and it's significance. There were 6 bodies present, representing 3 different Counties in Florida - and one HUGE Holy Spirit moving among us.

We know that the number of people doing God’s work has nothing to do with the outcome. 6 people on fire for Christ and justice is so much bigger than hundreds of people sitting around doing nothing!! He has gone before us to make a way. All we have to do is move!!!

So, the 3 of us representing Pinellas County decided to go out together on the National Day of Prayer (May 3rd) and attempt our first petition run. We got another friend involved, so with a team of 4 we went to Brighthouse Field in Clearwater where there would be hundreds of Christians praying for change in our country. None of us had ever attempted this before but we knew being equipped with the Holy Spirit was all we needed. I think we were all satisfied to get just one person to sign the petition but we ended up with 40 signed and tons of confidence to keep getting more. I’m excited to see what God does through us and I’m very thankful for your guidance as we champion for the unborn together!!

Today is the National Day of Prayer. Our nation has a long heritage of turning back to God in a time of need. These times of need are usually precipitated by compromise and sin which leads to the judgment of God. Those times of judgment often bring us back to God, and coming back to God in turn brings His blessings.

In 2 Chronicles 7:13-14, we read, “When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (NKJV)

If there has ever been a time in America’s history where we need to turn back to God, this is the time! Will you join us in praying for our state and nation today? I urge you to cry out to God today and everyday for this nation that we love so dearly.

May we all be diligent in prayer and in expanding the Kingdom of God.

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV)

Proclamation Appointing a National Fast Day
Washington, D.C.
March 30, 1863 By President Abraham Lincoln of the United States of America.

A Proclamation.

Whereas, the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the Supreme Authority and just Government of Almighty God, in all the affairs of men and of nations, has, by a resolution, requested the President to designate and set apart a day for National prayer and humiliation.

And whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men, to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord.

And, insomuch as we know that, by His divine law, nations like individuals are subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the awful calamity of civil war, which now desolates the land, may be but a punishment, inflicted upon us, for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation as a whole People? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!

It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.

Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of the Senate, I do, by this my proclamation, designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th. day of April, 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting and prayer. And I do hereby request all the People to abstain, on that day, from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn occasion.

All this being done, in sincerity and truth, let us then rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high, and answered with blessings, no less than the pardon of our national sins, and the restoration of our now divided and suffering Country, to its former happy condition of unity and peace.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixed.

Done at the City of Washington, this thirtieth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the eighty seventh.

By the President: Abraham Lincoln

Let’s pray from the Florida Constitution:

Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that

I am God”

Let’s pray from the Florida Constitution:

PREAMBLE

We, the people of the State of Florida, being grateful to Almighty God for our constitutional liberty…

“We, the people” have turned our back on Almighty God and have almost lost this covenant. I speak now to those who are grateful to Him. May we turn from being grateful to “the government” for what it may allow us to do, or give us, and return to looking to Almighty God only and to being grateful to Him alone for our constitutional liberty.

Let’s continue to look at our constitution, for our political power to return to that which He bestowed upon us:

SECTION 1. Political power.—All political power is inherent in the people.

This means that “We, the people” have the power, and (more accurately to recapture our heritage as Floridians) the responsibility to carry the power of government. This means turning from ever saying, “The government should do something about that…” We are the government. It is OUR responsibility to DO something about THAT!

Our founding fathers educated their children well.

Children were considered a blessing, a heritage and a reward- “blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.”

We, the people fed the poor, we clothed the naked, we took in the immigrants, taught them to speak English, how to read and employed them.

Statue of Liberty quote:

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

“We, the people” need to return to our first love and do the deeds that “We, the people” once did.

You see our constitution is inherently Christian. In no other religion would the government be “of the people” to have the rights of “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

But our Florida constitution does not give us these rights exactly. Our constitution says:

“All natural persons, female and male alike, are equal before the law.”

This is inherently a Christian concept. In most other religions, it is legally advantageous to be male. But Galatians 3:28a says, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female ….” We believe that Jesus in us is our hope of glory, not what caste we are born into, how much money we make, how old we are or what our sex or race is. We are all considered equal if we are Bible- reading, Bible-reasoning Christians as our founding fathers were.

Our constitution says that we:

have inalienable rights -

That means that neither man nor government can take them away. So in order to obey God and not man, we have to be willing to pledge our “lives, fortunes and sacred honor” to stay and be free.

And here comes the most important and critical part, because as Thomas Jefferson said, “The care of human life and happiness … is the first and only legitimate object of good government.”

And as President Ronald Reagan said, “We cannot diminish the value of one category of human life- the unborn- without diminishing the value of all human life… There is no cause more important.”

Our constitution, in declaring our rights, establishes that:

“among which are the right to enjoy and defend life.”

Without life we have no liberty, pursuit of happiness or ability to speak freely, assemble, or worship as we choose.

If we do not defend those unjustly sentenced to death, we will not enjoy our constitutional liberties. And if we want to truly be grateful to Him, we must obey Him in our constitutional responsibility to DEFEND LIFE.

This is why the PersonhoodFL amendment is so important. I agree with our founders, that governments should not be altered for “light and transient causes.” But if we continue to allow our disabled and elderly to be starved and dehydrated to death as Terri Shiavo and Carrie Johnson were here in Florida, if we continue to allow abortionists to profit from crisis pregnancies, if we allow embryos to be used for Nazis type experiments in some of our biotechnology labs, like the “cow-boys” of the UK or the “glow-in-the dark” experiments, we will not continue to “enjoy life” as is our heritage. (See PersonhoodFL.com or Personhood.net, if you want more information on these issues.)

In Ezekiel 9, the Lord said basically, “Enough!” and sent an angel to mark those who were crying out because of the injustice and sent angels behind him to wipe out everyone else for the “land is full of blood.” As you know they started in the sanctuary.

Malachi 3:16 says,

“Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In His presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared Him and always thought about the honor of His name.”

I invite you now to covenant with God once more, to honor Him and declare that you love what He loves, and hate what He hates. This Personhood Petition will allow Floridians to vote in the general election of 2014, to determine that all persons may be considered equal and endowed with the inalienable right to life from our Creator, not our government or Supreme Court.

The proposed Personhood Amendment defines all humans as “persons” under the Florida Constitution regardless of age, race, creed, mental or physical ability. It will establish justice and respect for life from the moment of biological beginning until natural death.

Please sign the PersonhoodFL amendment today and print out more petitions. Share this message with your sphere of influence: your family, friends, co-workers, pastor and church, your men’s and women’s groups, schools and civic groups. Take it to the people at all kinds of public gatherings and invite them to join you in their constitutional right “to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

As we re-assume our constitutional responsibility to enjoy and defend LIFE, may all political power be restored to the people of Florida.

Once again, may we pray this covenant:

“We, the people of the State of Florida,

being grateful to Almighty God

for our constitutional liberty…”

We are having a serious but exciting campaign to end abortion by establishing personhood for the preborn as a Florida constitutional amendment. There is an urgency to this movement as we do not know how long we will have the freedom to defend the orphans and widows. We find that young people especially, are excited about this movement. We are petitioning 2012-2013 to have this amendment on the Florida General Election ballot of 2014.

October Baby, The Movie

“You saw me before I was born.” Psalm 139:16 (NLT)

As the curtain rises, Hannah hesitantly steps onto the stage for her theatrical debut in college. Yet before she can utter her first lines, Hannah — unscripted — collapses in front of the stunned audience.

After countless medical tests, all signs point to one underlying factor: Hannah’s difficult birth. This revelation is nothing compared to what she then learns from her parents: she was actually adopted … after a failed abortion attempt.

Bewildered, angered, and confused, Hannah turns for support to Jason, her oldest friend. Encouraged by his adventurous spirit, Hannah joins his group of friends on a Spring Break road trip, embarking on a journey to discover her hidden past … and find hope for her unknown future.

In the midst of her incredible journey, Hannah finds that life can be so much more than what you have planned.

A Vote for Life!

This weekend, when the biggest box-office hit is expected be a film based on a popular book about young people being forced to fight to the death, OCTOBER BABY hits theaters with a resounding message about the sanctity of life. Talk about a culture in need of a wake-up call!

On top of that, every ticket purchased for OCTOBER BABY is a vote for life. The producers of OCTOBER BABY have assigned 10 percent of the profits of the movie to the Every Life is Beautiful Fund, which will distribute funds to frontline organizations helping women facing crisis pregnancies, life-affirming adoption agencies, and those caring for orphans.

This Weekend Matters!

In every facet of life, there are different ways of judging success. With a movie as powerful as OCTOBER BABY, success could literally come in the form of a mother seeing the movie and choosing life instead of the alternative.

Yet for films like OCTOBER BABY to continue being made, audiences need to be willing to see it in theaters. Movie industry success is based on how well a movie does on its Opening Weekend. For OCTOBER BABY, that means what happens this Friday through Sunday, March 23-25, will determine if the movie has an extended run in the theaters where it’s opening and if it will expand to other theaters around the country.

Your support of OCTOBER BABY is imperative. Bring a group of friends with you and introduce them to OCTOBER BABY. They’ll be glad you did … and so will you. And be sure to stay through the credits, which include the real-life testimony of actress Shari Rigby.

The Floridians in Naples are passionate about LIFE, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. We were inspired to see so many young people that realize the seriousness of the Battle for LIFE and are willing to take their faith to the streets.

Attending the 2012 Law of Life Summit “2″ at Ave Maria Law University was one of the highlights of the weekend. The students discussed personhood strategy in the opening event Thursday night. The leaders agreed that what is crucial for success in re-establishing a pro-life culture to our state and nation is humility among our ministries. This is well articulated in this LifeSiteNews article.

Several pro-life ministries expressed the importance of recognizing that our battle for life is not limited to the pre-born, but must include proactive protection for the aging and disabled.

This is why those of us at PersonhoodFL are so excited about this Constitutional Amendment. It protects all human beings, from the moment of biological development until natural death, no matter how each person is conceived or what condition they are in. Every person is precious and has a destiny from God that needs to be nurtured and protected by love and by law.

Personhood FL Co-Sponsor and State Coordinator Brenda MacMenamin will be in the Hillsborough County area Saturday April 14th. Please join us for a Rally for Life, April 14, 2-4pm at 1st Missionary Baptist Church of Highland Pines, 4711 E 21st Ave., Tampa, FL 33605.

Personhood Florida Co-Sponsor and State Coordinator Brenda MacMenamin will be at the FPEA convention May 24-26.

Would you invite anyone and everyone you know whose hearts beat for the next generation and for the future of our country, to one of these meetings, if they are close to you? This Window of Grace has to be taken full advantage of while it is open. If not now, when? If not us, who!

Please come and we will bring a presentation to educate those you invite, who are concerned with the heritage we will be leaving for our children and children’s children!

Florida Personhood: Justice for All Human Beings Cannot Wait

“I have come to give you Life and that more abundantly.” ~Jesus

Why Personhood, Florida? from Mrs. Brenda MacMenamin on Vimeo.

God is the author of human rights – mine, yours – every human being from their very beginning. First among these on which all others stand is our right to be recognized as persons – as children of God, made in His image and likeness.

As the hands and feet of Christ it is up to us to safeguard this most fundamental of these rights – human personhood.

The nation’s founding fathers recognized this all-important responsibility. “We hold these truths to be self-evident …”

Yes, even during the drafting of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, Thomas Jefferson and many of our founding fathers desired to right what was even then viewed as an a grave hypocrisy and injustice in our newborn American country. They struggled to recognize the personhood of Africans – both slave and free.

Now was not the time said some. The economic burden on the plantation owners would be too great. The public sentiment was not great enough some offered.

The fervent acquiesced. Laws were proposed during the Constitutional Convention to be enacted in 1808 that would outlaw slavery and set slaves free. But between the Constitutional Convention and 1808, the cotton gin was invented. Greed set in, hearts grew cold and we compromised again.

As Lincoln taught us, when our liberty curtails the liberty of another, we seek not liberty but tyranny.

Quoting from our Florida state Constitution:

“We, the people of the State of Florida, being grateful to Almighty God for our constitutional liberty, in order to secure its benefits….. do ordain and establish this constitution ……All natural persons, female and male alike, are equal before the law and have inalienable rights, among which are the right to enjoy and defend life ….”

Some may be concerned that now is not the time for a human personhood amendment. Some may say there is a better way. To this we say, along with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his passionate epistle from the Birmingham jail, “Wait” has almost always meant “Never.”

Our Floridian Founding Fathers laid upon our shoulders the right, better yet the responsibility, to defend life – of every human being.

As we learn the price they paid to recognize our rights, can we do less to recognize the personhood of every human being on which all other rights stand?

In 1808 the window of grace slammed shut and it took bloodshed and hundreds of thousands of lives before America finally birthed the Emancipation Proclamation and recognized the personhood of African Americans.

A window of grace is before us again. If we do not whole-heartedly work to establish personhood with all our hearts, our minds, our souls and our strength, our compromise, like the compromise at the signing of the Declaration of Independence, will result not in the possibility of a wider door in the future, but a slamming shut on God’s grace yet again.

Wait means never.

Justice for all human beings cannot wait.

What is the price of keeping our liberty? Very small compared to the price of losing it.

Our cause is just and our God is able!

Amendment language:

(a) The rights of every person shall be recognized, among which in the first place is the inviolable right of every
innocent human being to life. The right to life is the paramount and most fundamental right of a person.
(b) With respect to the fundamental and inalienable rights of all persons guaranteed in this Constitution, the
word ‘person’ applies to all human beings, irrespective of age, race, sex, health, function, or condition of dependency, including unborn children at every stage of their biological development regardless of the method of creation.

For the generation yet to be born,
Mrs. Brenda MacMenamin PersonhoodFL
PersonhoodFL@gmail.com

“…..we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord,….so the next generation might know them even the children not yet born— and they in turn will teach their own children. So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.” Psalm 78: 4, 6-7
